Lluís Martínez Biscarri

Expert at CTAE

Lluís graduated in mechanical engineering in 1979 at the Politechnical University of Catalonia, Spain, and followed post-graduate courses on numerical methods applied to engineering and fracture mechanics.

Lluís started his professional activity as structural analyst in civil engineering and industrial facilities projects. He has teached  finite element method theory and practice in the Politechnical University of Catalonia, and has been professionally linked to automotive sector the most part of his career, at NISSAN European Technical Center first, and providing engineering services to SEAT, NISSAN, ALSTOM and other industrial companies later. Since 2006, Lluís is running his own technological consultancy business.

Lluís has a broad-spectrum expertise in mechanical engineering. His main speciality deals with computer aided engineering (CAE). His present consulting activity is highly focused on CAE technology transfer to the industry, helping his clients to implement or improve the use of numerical simulation tools in their product development and/or production engineering processes. He is collaborator of Barcelona Supercomputing Center, giving support to supercomputing and computational mechanics technology transfer activities.

Since 1997, Lluís is member of the Society of Automotive Technicians (STA), the spanish member of FISITA, where he has collaborated in the definition of an automotive technological center and a wind tunnel facility.

His collaboration with CTAE starts in 2008, as external consultant working on the preliminary draft definition of a multipurpose wind tunnel facility project, promoted by Viladecans City Council. This project, still on the process of obtaining public foundings, is a recurrent demand of the automotive sector (car makers, TIER1 suppliers, motorsport teams, testing facilities, …), but it is an estrategic technological infraestructure for aerospace industry as well, offering to this sector important sinergies and being an incentive for its growth in Catalonia.

Lluís is married to the paintress Rosa Agenjo and has two sons. He likes reading scientific essay and , to practice ski, to hear music and play guitar.
